At The White Feather Coffee Co, we’re about so much more than excellent quality coffee. With our origins firmly rooted in Somerset, we’re a local, independent coffee shop chain with big plans for growth.

White Feather Founder, Holly Buckingham, started the brand aged 30 following the passing of her husband in 2015. This life changing event was the instigator for Holly to quit her job and pursue her new found quest – to compete with the biggest brands in the coffee industry, whilst championing local suppliers, and bringing a quality offering to the table.

Our brand started its journey way back in 2016 when Holly started selling locally roasted coffee and freshly baked cakes from the back of a Citreon 2CV called Matilda. The coffee machine and grinder were fitted by Brazier Coffee Roasters, who are still supplying us with coffee to this day!

In the months that followed, The White Feather Coffee Co set down roots in two Bridgwater-based coffee shops, where we remained for a number of years before having to ride the Covid storm. Fast forward seven years from the brand’s initial conception, and The White Feather Coffee Co Ltd now operates from four sites across Somerset and Bath, with plans to expand and open sites throughout the South West region!

As a brand, we’re about so much more than the products we sell, we’re committed to making a positive impact on our local economy, the customers we serve, the staff we employ and the environment – on both a local and global scale. We’re excited to see this impact grow alongside our business.

After 8 years of working in Educational Marketing, Holly took the leap into self employment following the tragic loss of her Husband in 2015. With the help of various friends along the way, Holly launched the brand The White Feather Coffee Co from the back of a Citroen 2CV van in 2016. Fast forward 7 years and Holly is now able to focus all of her time on growing the business and spreading the White Feather word throughout the South West and beyond!

“White Feather provided me with the therapy and focus I needed to move forward at a very difficult time in my life, it was my first baby. It continues to provide me with that focus today as I juggle my time between being the full-time CEO of a fast growing business, and bringing up my two children Ruby & Kit with my partner Steve. I’ve suffered a loss in my life that no person should ever have to experience, but I chose to move forward in a positive direction and focus all of my energy on creating a brand that really makes a difference. White Feather was the anchor to my ‘new normal’ and from that anchor I have made positive choices that have resulted in a wealth of happiness in both my personal and professional life. I am incredibly excited for the future of White Feather and look forward to taking it to the masses and making it a household name!”

Paul joined the White Feather family in January 2023. With extensive experience in chairing fast growth companies, he has a wealth of experience specific to the hospitality sector, working with both local and national chains, and well known brands. Paul is also involved in the charity sector through work for deprived communities, and is keen to explore possible links between these charities and White Feather.
